Chesterfield Sofa
The Chesterfield Sofa is the first in our list of unique sofa design. It has an interesting story behind it. The fourth Earl of Chesterfield, England first requested a furniture element that would allow a man to sit upright with comfort. This sofa became a symbol of noble sophistication and hasn’t lost its charm. This type of sofa is defined by the use of leather, the back the same height as that of the arms and no back cushion.
Cabriole Sofa
The Cabriole sofa is associated with the Louis XV period of furniture design and has the upper portion curved outwards and the lower portion curved inwards in an S shape. This type of sofa is characterized by a wooden frame, slightly lower arms than the back, no back cushions, continuous lines.
Camelback Sofa
The camelback sofa is attributed to the London cabinetmaker and furniture designer Thomas Chippendale. The camelback sofa has the arch back that rises to a higher point in the center and gets slightly low at the ends. The other features of this unique sofa are that it contains exposed legs, no back cushions, rolled arms or square arms and upholstery. It looks really wonderful when kept in the living area and gives an inviting appeal to the guests.
